Visit to the Kanazawa Shotokan Ryu by the Japanese Deputy Consul General Mr Tetsuo Hiraide
December 2008. Sunday the 14th Dec 2008 saw the Kanazawa Shotokan Ryu gather for a Special Occassion.
The Japanese Deputy Consul General Mr Tetsuo Hiraide visited the group to present Dan Grade Certificates to the successful candidates who graded in
May 2008 with Kanazawa Kancho.
Mr Hiraide was delighted to receive a small gift from the Group and spent an afternoon with the Senior Grades. Mr Hiraide stated that he met Kanazawa
Kancho 30 years ago when he himself tried karate. A demonstration of karate followed the presentation.
A Kyu Grading had taken place that morning so Mr Hiraide also presented Kyu Grade Certificates to all those who were successful.

Visit to the Kanazawa Shotokan Ryu by Sensei Roger Carpenter 7th Dan S.K.I.F.
July 2008. Held on the 17th. On a warm July evening, the Kanazawa Shotokan Ryu welcomed Sensei Roger Carpenter on the Scottish leg
of his U.K. tour. The course took place at the clubs temporary summer "home" at Stirling High School.
Carpenter Sensei's knowledge and wealth of experience of Kancho Kanazawa's Syllabus always makes these courses a worthwhile experience and well worth
the effort to train with him.

Stirling Highland Games Demonstration July 2008.
Held on the 13th. On a Beautiful sunny day at the new venue of The Bannockburn Heritage Site, the Kanazawa Shotokan Ryu
gave a demonstration of Kihon, Kumite and Kata within the sight and under the watchful eye of the statue of Robert The Bruce.
The demonstration, as ever was well received and several of the onlookers introduced themselves as former students of Palmer Sensei. |
