Invitational Course and Grading by Sensei Murikami 6th Dan S.K.I.F. October, 2003. Held over the 29th& 30th at the Edinburgh and Stirling Dojo's. Manabu Murakami Sensei, 6th Dan, Head of the SKIF International Division made his way to Scotland in October 2003. Another superb course given by one of the Stars of the SKIF family. His teaching style improves with every visit and everyone who took part in both the courses and the Grading that followed really learned a great deal. As Murakami Sensei Says, "Beautiful technique is not always good but, good technique is always beautiful".

Black and Brown Belt Course October, 2003. This course was held on the 5th. Another superb day of Instruction by Jim Palmer Sensei, 6th Dan given in Stirling. Jim's attention to detail ensures that everyone gets the opportunity to improve. It is perhaps unfortunate that so few members attended on the day however; those who did attend were given a master class in Kata and the Kihon for several of the Dan Grades. Sensei has a knack of drawing out the best in willing pupil and many people were amazed at what they were able to do after a few hours instruction.

Three Sixth Dans Course. September, 2003. Held on the 7th& 8th by three of the S.K.I.'s most senior UK instructors, Roger Carpenter, Chairman and Chief Instructor of the SKKIF, Jim Palmer, Vice Chairman of the SKKIF and Chief Instructor of the Kanazawa Shotokan Ryu and Dave Kershaw, Former UK and European Champion and Chief Instructor to the Konjaku Shin National School of Karate gave a course that is rapidly turning into an annual highlight in the Karate Calendar. With over 100 years Martial Arts Experience between them, each Instructor's knowledge and style of teaching really shines through.

Presentation of Dan Grade Certificates August, 2003. There was a presentation and Demo on 6 Aug 03 for all those who passed their Dan Grade Exams. The certificates were issued by Hiroshi Ota Consul, Information and Culture from the Japanese Consulate in Edinburgh. Special thanks go to him for giving up his time and for his kind gifts given to certificate recipients.

Kanazawa Kancho Visit Stirling & Edinburgh April, 2003. Those people fortunate enough to have attended all 3 courses held by Kanazawa Kancho in Stirling and Edinburgh over the 2 day period will be able to tell you how brilliant a man Kanazawa Sensei really is. From teaching advanced techniques on the Black & Brown Belt course to teaching basics to the beginners in the second course and then doing all round course work on the open course. All that I can say is that the 2 days were tiring but awesome.
